To add the shortcut bar in Office XP, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add / Remove Programs.
3. In the Add / Remove Programs dialog box, select the program you installed Office XP, and then click Edit (in Windows 2000) or Add / Remove (in Windows 98 or Windows Millennium Edition [Me]).
4. In the dialog box installation of Microsoft Office, click Add or Remove, then click Next.
5. Click the plus sign next to Office Tools.
6. Click on the arrow next to the Shortcut Bar in Microsoft Office.
7. Click Run from My Computer, then click Update.
